Darrell has been involved with theatre, in one way or another, since the early 1980s. While in high school, Darrell became involved with lighting, sound, and other technical aspects. It was not until 2003 when Darrell first found his way onto the stage as one of the Murderers in a production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Since then Darrell has had the pleasure of working with several really great theatre companies in the Northwest Territories and Alberta. Some notable roles include: Marshall in 7 Stories by Morris Panych; the title role of Dracula in the Steven Dietz play Bram Stoker’s Dracula; Paul in Beginner’s Luck by Norman Barasch & Carroll Moore; Russell Teeter in the Robert Clinton play The Mail Order Bride; Glenn Cooper in Neil Simon’s Rumors; Montano in William Shakespeare’s Othello; and Larkin in Six Degrees of Separation by John Guare, to name a few.
In addition to performing on stage, Darrell has directed several plays and has acted in, directed, written and/or produced several independent short and feature films, commercials and web series. Most recently, Darrell has developed a a passion for improv and has had the opportunity to perform with several Edmonton improv companies.
